An animation used at the end of a Cineplex corporate video.

I explored some other approaches, one was a small variant of the final but it had a sign board similar to ones we grew up with and the other concept was a different direction as a whole, trying to remain very neutral to all the brands.

3D MODELING

3D asset creation to support the requirement to be able to visualize body types.

Using DAZ Studio I was able to create the male figure and apply morphs to show toned, built, overweight and natural body types. I then moved the models to Cinema3D for lighting and rendering.

When embarking on this task we discovered many detailed male body 3d models to leverage but the challenge was we needed the models to be consistent from a visual point of view. More so, we envisioned a way to animate in realtime the changes to the body in the app. This is what led us to consider using DAZ Studio. This allowed us to have limitless morphs all on a consistent looking male model and animate these body morph from keyframe to keyframe. The rendering exercise was to get photorealistic quality. Setting up the model in a studio lighting environment was the best way to achieve. When we considered texturing we landed on using a clean, ceramic-like material.
