Personas for the GoTengo App

When working on the GoTengo App we saw a need to have a visual representation of different body types so the app can better suggest clothing.

When constructing these renderings they needed to have consistent lighting conditions in order to blend different aspects of the body in order to visually represent the users selections. The second challenge was to morph the body types to show a range from skinny to overweight sizes.

3D Workflow

Achieving this would require a workflow through a few 3D programs. I used DAZ Studio 3D to generate the male model. From there body morphs could be applied and animated to create the different body types. These 3D sequences where exported and imported C4D for staging, texturing and lighting.

This application is the best choice for body configurations next to POSER

Careful choices were made on which sections of the body were made to either be reduced weight or overweight, we also created body proportions that you could configure.

Using C4D I was able to achieve the right rendering results

We were going for a photo-realistic look but also didn't want to bring skin textures into the model which would change the viewers position. Instead we wanted the viewer to see the figure as a manikin which would take the focus off the nudity and more on the body shape.
